The connoisseur no. 1 by H. Upmann is a mild to medium-bodied cigar in the Robusto format. Tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo region make this vitola an exclusive product. It is a fairly mild, slightly sweet. The very fine veined wrapper of the H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 1 feels very fine and yet firm, is slightly oily and has a slightly grassy cold smell. Immediately after lighting, classic Cuban leathery, earthy aromas unfold, which set the pace in the first third in which direction it will go. Slightly grassy aromas underline its classic Cuban taste. In the second third, a slight sweetness is added, which is underlined by mild notes of pepper. The burn of this vitola is simply perfect, and it also has a very nice ash pattern. The volume of smoke increases step by step, without becoming uncomfortably sharp, more and more peppery notes are added. The last third adds a little flavor and gets a bit stronger, but it's still quite light for a Cuban cigar. This cigar is recommended even for a beginner to get an impression of Cuban cigars. Until the end, this vitola remains perfect and very balanced.
